With a 200-year lifespan and with forthcoming UK and EU legislation aimed towards stamping out single-use plastics, the days of the single-use plastic straw seem numbered.  But what are the alternatives to single-use plastic straws? And what is REPA biodegradable plastic?

Paper straws are making a comeback across the UK and House if Straws’ range can be viewed here.  However, straws are now available in a 100% biodegradable material called REPA; a non-toxic material that is more durable than paper, manufactured using ground seashells and resulting in a consistency similar to plastic.  However, REPA products cause no harm to the environment and fully biodegrade in a fraction of the time.
